+511 If I want to bring in a bible to read silently to myself at school, I am not, in fact, infringing on others religious rights, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Definitely not. And, if you are reading it in your own free time, anyone who tries to prevent you would be imposing on your religious rights.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I brought in "The God Delusion", and I got called a douche for it. I was just reading it silently to myself after a test.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

well people have a right to free speech as much as you have a right to free exercise of your religion. but the person who called you a douche is probably a douche him/herself.

Loool I just torrented a PDF version and read it in class on my iPod. http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100812210427/callofduty/images/f/f4/Not-a-single-fuck.jpg

of course not. but that doesnt make you less of a weirdfuck....

For reading a book in school? That's what the bible is, you know. A book. A piece of literature. A very old one that's connected to religion, but still a book.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

im aware. ive read it. and frankly i think it sucks. in my opinion, people who read things that suck are weird. im sure youre very accomplished and your hair smells nice, but i cant fathom why of all the multifarious written matter in the world, one would choose that piece of crap.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Care to explain why it sucks? Or are you just a troll? Cuz I don't feed trolls.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

She shouldn't have to. It's her own personal opinion.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well people generally have opinions for a reason. And I don't know about anyone else (because no, I can't read minds) but if I form an opinion on something, it's something important enough for me to want to support said opinion.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If she(?) had wanted to put up her reasons she would have.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I was just asking.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And I was just telling. :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well now that we've got that all cleared up... *waits for phillipsguurl to respond

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No not at all.. my lil bro has to do Harry Potter or Satan's Manual as a required reading.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, it'd only be infringing on others relgious reason if you were shouting it to people intead of reading it silently, or making people feel like shit about it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You wouldn't call a black person a n*gger, or a girl a c*nt. So why would you impose your religion on other peopel?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

1. How do you know they wouldn't "call a black person a n*gger, or a girl a c*nt."? 2. It's not imposing their religion.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

(<3 JBieber): Actually yeah, I would call a girl a cunt. If she's acting like one. No, I wouldn't call a black person that because most consider it a racist name. I fail to see what either of these have to do with reading a book. Silently.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're a Justin Bieber fan. Thus, your opinions are invalid.

For some reason, the whole "censoring one letter" thing in this comment reminded me of this post: http://amirite.net/580188. Or maybe that was a different post? I can't remember.

School Policies.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Oh okay. It's different for me here because I go to a Christian school.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't think those can ban bibles. Hmmm.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If your school has rules against reading the Bible, talk to the ACLU.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

ACLU? lolwut

by Anonymous 12 years ago

American Civil Liberties Union.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Oooooooooh. Tanks you!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I once got in trouble for bringing a bible to school in second grade. I wasn't even reading it yet. It was just sitting innocently in my backpack. :(

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Did you go to a public school? Because you could sue them for that.
