+363 Neville should have killed Bellatrix, he deserved it more, amirite?

JK Rowling was going to make him kill her, but then decided to make Molly do that. Molly deserved that importance too.

"NOT MY *blank* YOU BITCH!" Who would have gone in that blank for Neville?

Grandma, I guess...

Parents, but I think the focus was on Harry's parents and in fiction you can't really use two plot devices twice so importantly...if that made sense. Sorry, I'm tired.

It makes sense, but no one was at the battle for Neville to scream about. His parents and his grandmother wasn't there so wouldn't be anyone for him to yell about.

His grandmother was there

She was? Eh, I've seen the movie more recently than I've read so I forget details about each.

I loved the way it played out in the book. And Neville got to stand up to voldemort/kill the snake.

Neville got his share of awesome and he owned it. It was important to give Molly a moment, too. It proved what a capable witch she was.

By the end Neville was really shining out as a hero. Heroes don't kill for revenge, it fucks up their image. Anyway, he got to chop the head off a snake that Voldemort fed one of his teachers to, (did Neville ever take muggle studies? Come to think of it, they probably should have made that required. They wouldn't have needed so many memory charms done) so it's not like he didn't get any glory.

I would have loved to see his grandmother kill Bellatix. "Not my grandson, you bitch!" being shouted by an old lady weilding a stick would have been quite frightening. Besides, nobody seems to remember that mrs longbottom lost a child that she knew and loved, and she never got the chance to avenge them.
