+376 It's sad to see overweight little kids. Unless there is a health problem involved, it's completely absurd. amirite?

I'd much rather my child be overweight than underweight.

Depends in what degree. I'd rather my kid be a bit over the average weight range than a bit under, because depending on his age, it's probably just baby fat, and making him go outside and play more to lose weight would be cheaper than feeding him more to make him gain weight. But if we're talking obese compared to really underweight, then IDK what I'd prefer, since I do know people who have really fast metabolisms, and are trying to gain weight, because even though they don't have eating disorders they're rarely hungry, but I do think it would be easier to help a kid gain weight if they're really skinny, than help them lose weight if they're really fat. /overthinking it

sometimes kids are super-active & eat healthy but are still chubby because they're naturally that way. they usually grow up to be thin but curvy girls or muscular guys. i've known several kids like that.

My little brother is chubby but he is active in sports year round and eats healthy. He just can't lose the weight. He's also growing at a normal rate so he should turn out skinnier when he's older. He's 11 now.

There was a 6 year old child on the Maury show that weighed the same as my athletic 20 year old self...so sad!! :-S
