+193 The Lion King in blu-ray 3D! Walt Disney must be turning in his grave, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well, Walt loved new ideas and technology. He did create the first fully animated movie ever. I think he would be very impressed with the new technology, and since he was dead by the time the Lion King came out I don't think the changes would matter much to him.

I didn't grow up watching it! I don't like those kind of movies! MY OPINION!

This is the Internet, not some kind of place for people who have different thoughts!

***Disclaimer... I swear to whatever deity you worship (or not) I am not trying to be a troll, I'm just sayin'*** Uh... yeah, except that he is in a cryogenic freeze chamber, because he, and others at Disney hoped to one day bring him back and use his amazing ideas once again.

Why?

Walt Disney believed very strongly in the advancement of technology. He invented many things that improved not only his films but his theme parks as well. I think he'd be damn proud of his company for taking advantage of the opportunity to re-release a fan favorite using the newest technology in film.

Why is this post positive

Although I live and breath classic Disney, I've never been much of a fan of The Lion King. That, and I'm not a supporter of 3D movies that really have no purpose being in 3D. But I think good ol' Walt would have been proud. Wasn't he all about innovation?

He'd also probably be pretty upset that anti-semitism is now frowned upon.

A whole new generation of kids can be excited about a great movie. It's 3D because that's the norm for kids' movies now.

16th century humanists such as Michaelangelo made great advancement regarding the arts, does that mean we should change the Sistine Chapel or can we leave his work the way he intended it to be?
