If you were rich, you would hire someone whose sole responsibility was to stand on top of stairwells and high-five you when you get to the top, amirite?

The voters have decided that Boufaka is right! Vote on the post to say if you agree or disagree.

This post reminds me of the improv everywhere high five escalator thing haha

Well NOW that's on my list of things to do when I become rich.

If I was rich, I would wear a brand new pair of socks every single day...

I would consider spending most of a paycheck for that anyway if I didn't live on the bottom floor.

My friend has a theory that large portion of rich people have worked so hard and diligently to become rich that they don't remember how to have a good time, so he wants to be a "fun advisor" for richies.

@BurntToastCastle My friend has a theory that large portion of rich people have worked so hard and diligently to become rich that...

that's actually a good idea.
just like when you're at home and you think "hmm I could really go for some chips" then at the store nothing looks good.
that might not have been the best analogy haha.

If this is the way you think, you'll never become rich.

@Rainbows If this is the way you think, you'll never become rich.

A dose of perspective for you: most people will never become rich, regardless of how hard they work or how earnestly they try to save money.

A dose of perspective for you: anyone can become rich if they work hard and know how to save and spend their money.

Right, just keep clapping if you want the American Dream to stay alive.

If they don't inherit their money, people who do become rich mainly succeed thanks to luck and opportunity (random chance); even those who do become wealthy by their own efforts often enjoy some kind of early life advantage, such as their parents being able to give them a great education. The few exceptions to these rules are typically unusually intelligent/talented and aren't ordinary people (such as Bill Gates).

@Rainbows So obviously nobody becomes rich because of their talents. //sarcasm.

Apparently you didn't read the end of my comment: "The few exceptions to these rules are typically unusually intelligent/talented and aren't ordinary people."

As I hope you can see, I did state that some people (Bill Gates, for example) are unusually talented and/or intelligent and therefore enjoy a certain advantage. However, even that's a matter of luck.

I did read the last part of your comment and I don't agree with it because you don't have to be "unusually talented/intelligent. Unusual implies that it's not normal, but a lot of people work their ass off to get the intelligence/talent they have today. I don't know much about Bill Gates but I bet he wasn't born incredibly smart. He worked for it and that doesn't make him "unusually smart."

Okay, can we agree to disagree? Because I know for a fact that I'm never going to be convinced that becoming rich is based off of extraordinary standards. You probably won't be convinced with my argument, so why don't we just stop?

@Rainbows If this is the way you think, you'll never become rich.

If you're being realistic, it's a bit doubtful that the people who YYA this post actually think that they will waste money on a person that they want to high-five at the top of stairwells. It is simply a humorous thought, so obviously your sense of humor is a bit lost here.

Fair enough, I lose my sense of humor on amirite sometimes because I just don't find the post funny and therefore vote on it based off of the content. But either way, this kind of sounds like an MLIA post.
