U.S troops shouldn't be paid millions of dollars. It would make people want to become soldiers just for the money. Someone should choose to be a soldier because they believe in keeping our country safe, not because they want be rich, amirite?
The OP's saying that because there a lot of people who want soldiers to be paid as much as pro athletes. I think soldiers deserve that money, but the OP has a good point.
I'd rather our soldiers be payed millions of dollars for serving our country and risking their life on the front line, instead of giving that money to athletes who are paid way more than they should
Athletes are paid based on how valuable they are to their owners. The owners money has nothing to do with you, unless you're buying merchandise for that team. The military, on the other hand, is paid by the government. All the people saying they want soldiers paid more would be the same ones bitching because their taxes just shot up because of the rising pay for those same soldiers.
I disagree. athletes are paid this way, because they are the best. soldiers aren't the best, they are just willing. if they were paid millions, more would be willing for the wrong reasons.
yeah I see your point and I'm not saying athletes shouldn't be payed a lot, I'm just saying how much money should we pay them? The average NFL player makes 1.4 million dollars a year. Do they really need that much?
no that point understand. on top of that they went on strike.I think football is stupid, so that even furthers my agreement. on the other hand the average MLS player is payed under 250k... cmon!
Do research before you post things like this. Soldiers are not paid millions. The military is also a job that produces a lot of revenue for our country and provides other people with jobs. Have you ever served in any branch? It's not an easy job and it's not enough to be paid in "patriotism".
A lot of us join because of the shitty economy and for college money. I joined because I want to fight for what's right, but not a lot of us joined for that reason.
But I've noticed that most people in the homefront are a LOT worse than the enemies that we're trained to fight.
Um....they are not paid millions.

op never said they were

This post isn't saying they do make a million dollars. I think OP is criticizing the people who say they should be paid millions of dollars.

The OP isn't saying they're getting paid millions
By saying they shouldn't be, some people think that OP thinks they are. Which is understandable.
I think this was a retaliation post to those "soldiers should be paid as much as football players" posts.
No shit soliders shouldn't be paid millions... But they still deserve more than they get, and politicians deserve less than they do.
then we wouldn't have an army or at least a very small one
A lot of us join because of the shitty economy and for college money. I joined because I want to fight for what's right, but not a lot of us joined for that reason.
