+330 You're made to say the stupidest things in your second language class. No one introduces themselves and then immediately says what kind of a person they are and what they like to do! amirite?

I'm in French, and it occurs to me that I can say "I want to be an actress" better than I can say "Where is the bathroom?" Pretty sure the latter is more useful. Unless I'm interested in doing french porn or something...

On the bright side, because it's about language and not about content, when you have oral projects they can be completly ridiculous and still acceptable as long as the french is right.

Not in my school. You were supposed to say something that wasn't in your room, and I said a horse. She only gave me half credit for that line and wrote "Be reasonable"

We had conversations (in Spanish) that go like this. "Hello, whats your name?" "My name is Harper." "How do you spell Harper?" "H-A-R-P-E-R. Whats you're phone number?" "8675309" "Goodbye."

I really hate when my Spanish teacher makes us answer yes or no questions with full sentences. If someone asks you a yes or no question, like whether or not you want to go to the movies with them, you would say "Yeah" or "Sure," not "Yes I would like to go to the movies with you." It's just not how people actually talk.

No joke, the questions on my Spanish quiz last Wednesday: 1. Did you iron your pants last year? 2. Do you sing with your mother in the shower? 3. When did you last walk with your pig? 4. Are there toilets in El Salvador? You get the idea.
