How is that embarrassing

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's embarrassing for our society; That people like to listen to songs that sing the tale of sexual intercourse.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Sex is what made you. Nothing wrong with singing about it.

by Anonymous 10 years ago

Because it's like that's all people want to think about.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It is a shame.... I see an american where 100% of them are about sex!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Did you know that 89% of statistics are made up?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Did you know you're too lazy to look at the first comment and follow the link?

Chill brah, it was a joke. I No Way'd the post because I don't agree with it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

EVERYONE knows that stupid joke.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Singers sure do like to talk about "fun time in the mouth" a lot

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Sex sells and that's why they're the top songs. People don't want to think deep. They just want repetitive songs they can dance and drink all night to. I mean, I like listening to pop sometimes too, but I just don't understand how it's the only thing some people listen to.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I can tell you're some who DOES like to think deeply and listen to deep music. I just want to say I'm really proud of you and I think you're a really good person. :)

It's not embarrassing. It's how it's always been and always will be. I'm learning a madrigal right now which translates to "If you want me, I will keep you up all night, and bump, bump, bump like rams." Mozart wrote music about sex. Janacek wrote music about sex. Puccini wrote music about sex. It's not really like this is a recent phenomenon. I therefore would argue that sex is a theme which lends itself to musical inspiration and which people can relate to, which would be why you see that statistic.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Actually, 92% of pop songs had reproductive messages. Get your facts straight.

This isn't embarrassing at all... if a song is good, then it's good. No matter what it's about. If Beethoven made songs about sex, people would still enjoy it... they wouldn't frown upon him, just because it's not about something deeper... hello Btw I don't understand how it's 92%, what's that last 2% for? There are ten songs, so it should be 90%, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The posts says there are 172 of them. Still impossible to get exactly 92%, but I guess it was rounded.

by Anonymous 10 years ago

Considering some of those "sex" topics are commitment and parenting, no it's not sad.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

What's wrong with sex?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

92% of 172 songs is 158.24 songs...GET YO SHIT TOGETHER!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

People have been writing songs about sex since the rise of the Italian madrigal in the sixteenth century. Plus, it's hardly embarrassing, it just shows that people are inclined to address that topic in particular in song.

Throwback

sex sells need we say more ?

by Anonymous 10 years ago

Can tell they're not the brightest people on that website. "He also discovered that sex sells..." Top notch researcher right there!

by Anonymous 10 years ago

I wouldn't call it embarrassing. Sex has always been a part of life and always will be. The more explicit songs simply aren't my cup of tea, but I don't mind most songs that talk about it.
