+1,041 Some say a world without sin is ideal, but I disagree. After all, there's only so many problems which can be answered with cos and tan, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It took me a minute there to get it. At first I was like "WTF?!" And then " … Oh. Oh. Oh! Ooh, I get it." lol, I'm so slow today…

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well, trigonometric properties and proofs show that sin is equal to cos×tan, so you could just substitute it in for that and a world without sin could make relatively no major difference. troll

Too much work.

Trust an Asian ;)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

But if sin didnt exsist could tan really be defined?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yes. They're defined by a right triangle.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If you look at a graph of sin x and cos x, you will see how sin x is simply cos x shifted a bit (π/2 to be exact) Therefore: sin x = cos (π/2 - x) So all you really need is cos.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think you can almost always make some sort of a substitution and still get the problem to work like sinx=sqrt(1-cos^2x) or you could just write tanxcosx everytime sinx came up. It would make calculus even more fun

Speaking in the sense that I do not understand what you mean by the whole "trigonometric ratio" thing and that I want to discuss the "world sans sin" concept, do you mean a world where no one sins, or a world where nothing is considered a sin?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

secant everyone take a lesson from you? you're one radical dude.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

*does not understand. Just started Algebra 1*

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're too young to be on this site then. I started algebra 1 when I was 13, you have to be 16 to be on this site.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There are tons of 15 and 14 year olds on this site. I also believe that I am mature enough to handle the content on this website, and the fact that I will be trolled for all I am worth every now and then. Personally, I think maturity plays a larger role than age.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well all those people are also breaking the Terms and Conditions to be a member of this site. Who cares what everybody else is doing? That doesn't show maturity that you are going to do something just 'because everybody else is'. And maturity has a lot to do with age, every adult may not be mature, but every child is definitely not. You don't really start being mature until you're about 16 or 17, and as you can tell by this site, most are not.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Im not a member because everybody else is, please. Sixth grade is far behind me. Besides. If i cannot use the "jump the bandwagon" arguement, you cannot say generalizing statements. I said it once, and I will repeat myself, anon. I am MATURE and i am more than capable of handling this website's content. It is also true that people without an account cannot comment. Who are you?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Saying that you're more mature than other people your age is a clear indication that the opposite is true.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I mean that I'm not one off those idiot girls that fails school because it's cool, drinks and does drugs because it's illegal, and has sex every other day. Therefore, I believe that I am more mature in general than the people in my grade because I do not take part in these activities.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Neither did I. That didn't mean I was mature. It just meant that I didn't do drugs. Nobody would ever tell you that I wss mature for my age.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Alright, well according to you, what id the definition of maturity? Or would you rather i pull out a dictionary?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

One thing that isn't all that mature: calling all other girls stupid or bitching about how other girls R SUCH SLUTZ

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Those are not my exact words and I never said anybody was a slut. The only insult i used was idiot. Sure there are implications, but nothing blatant and outright like that. Are you a mod? Is that why you are so... erm ... concerned about this?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If I were a mod, I would have banning power. I'm concerned because I've seen what happens when this site gets overrun by tweens.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Like i said, it depends in maturity. I also agree with you though. Would it be weird if i told Ant or a Mod if we could have like some sort of quiz on maturity level when you make an account?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You'd get the banhammer.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lol, so I probably shouldn't. Anyways, the only thing you can really do is wait it out. These children will get bored of this website soon enough.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Also, i forgot something. I didn't call ALL girls sluts. If you look, i was referringbto a specific group of girls
