I use caps lock instead of the shift key, and I'd say that takes more work. Instead of holding the shift key while pressing the button and letting go, I press caps, then I type my letter, then I press caps again. Don't know why, I just never used the shift key so now it would feel unnatural. But if you're talking about for typing all capital letters: why would you use the shift key if you were going to do that?

Heh, I rarely use the shift key because when I was little I didn't realise what it did and now I've just continued not using it.
