+64 When someone is clearly dying, passive euthanasia (like pulling the plug) seems cruel to me. Unless of course they specified otherwise, administering a lethal injection seems kinder as it would involve less suffering, amirite?

If they're brain dead they won't feel it smarty pants

by Anonymous 12 years ago

When did I specify that they had to be in order for this to apply? I wrote this about my brother, and he wasn't brain dead so I'll ask you kindly not to fucking condescend me.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Okay calm down. I thought you were making a general statement. And what order are you talking about?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

When did I specify they had to be (brain dead) in order for this to apply. Make more sense?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lol I didn't see in. It's either brain dead or their heat isn't working. I was saying it was 50/50. Since I thought you were talking about in general so I was reminding you of the other 50% of the time. Get off my tip.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I have never heard that before. Get off my tip. I've heard "Get off my case, get off my ass, and get off of my property" but never get off my tip. What does that even mean? Lol

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Google is at your disposal. Figure it out.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I was asking a rhetorical question. You should've figured that out.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

There's no point in asking a question of you already know the answer.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

If*

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I didn't know the answer. I wasn't asking for one either. -_-

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You're wasting my time. Everyone knows what rhetorical means. I'm done with this.

Smh. Ughh. You people

I'm just saying that my grandma was practically dying, and they were thinking about pulling the plug; however, we said no. That was almost 2 years ago. All of the doctors refer to her as the "miracle patient." She is alive and better today. She is now on dialysis.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's fantastic, but if you guys were still skeptical about pulling the plug then she wasn't obviously, without a doubt, dying. I specified that in my post because there are some instances where there's just no way they would improve, you know?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah I know. She was dying. She had a major blood infection and two major heart issues along with the fact that she wouldn't eat and was losing weight. We live hundreds of miles away, and we were expecting the call that she had died. We were not skeptical about it all. Under no circumstances does my family believe euthanasia is acceptable. If you pull the plug, you will never know how much longer he/she would have lived. Anymore time, even if it's just a few minutes, with a loved one is well worth it. If the plug was pulled, I may still be wondering today if she may have lived.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I disagree. I think it's kind of selfish to say even a few more minutes is well worth it when you're not the one suffering. But either way, assuming that they are of sound mind and judgment, I think the decision should left to them. And not that this would ever come into practice, but if it did obviously not everyone would choose it for the very reason you mentioned.

Personally, after a day, I'd want the plug to be pulled on me and a cyanide capsule mashed up and dropped into my mouth if I ever become comatose. THat's because i have no idea whether or not you are aware of anything while comatose, and if I'm not, it won't matter to me, but if I am, I wouldn't want to be trapped in a prison (my immovable body) for more than a day.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I would certainly want to pull the plug if I was in that type of situation.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Kill me quickly if I'm suffering too much.
