+406 You hate teachers who push their political and social opinions as fact to students who know nothing about the subject, amirite?

Yeah but the teachers aren't allowed to do that in schools

they still do, I have had 2 teachers in particular that I absolutely can't stand because they take every chance they can get to do this. my government teacher this year really pisses me off because he pushes his political views as fact to his dumb ass students and they believe every word of it, he even went as far as to change the key word of one of the amendments in the bill of rights to make his opinion sound as if it was fact.

what did he change?

the 2nd amendment "a well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed". he changed the word PEOPLE to MILITIA when he spoke it out loud to the class, he changed the one word that declares it to be an individual right.

Especially the extreme liberal teachers.

my political theory prof is like that. even if i partially agree with what he says, the way he delivers his message is irritating. im paying tuition to learn the facts objectively, not to hear profs rant against things they support or are against.

Especially in history classes. It's one of those subjects where going in, students only know vaguely what happened. So when the teacher puts his/her own political views into the lesson, that's how the student learns it. You know you have a good teacher when they give both sides of the argument and let you decide. It's even worse when you say your own opinion and the teacher tries to convince you and the rest of the class that you're wrong.

My History teacher started ranting a bit about taxes. Someone in the class was like "Wow this really shows your political veiws" he resisted a bit but he was clearly a republican. Then one of those people in my class who is just like "Herp derp I say what my parents say without even thinking" was just like "Who would want to be a democrat right now?" It annoys me. Personally I prefer the teachers who are open to the students political opinions and are actually able to discuss it with them. As long as they don't say their opinion as fact I'm fine with it.

My atheist history teacher rants about his beliefs to the most religious people in my class.
