+203 Shouldn't "The Biggest Loser" be called "The Smallest Winner", amirite?

Not necessarily. The show is about the person that lost the largest percentage of weight. It does not mean that they will end up being the smallest person in the end. They will, however, be the biggest loser of weight. Hence, The Biggest Loser.

While there are many things on that post I agree with, I'd have to say you're wrong. The smallest winner would have to be correct because at the end of the show they would be the smallest, and the winner. Not the biggest, or the loser.

I'm not sure if you understood what I meant. Say there are two contestants: One who originally weighed 300 pounds and one who originally weighed 400 pounds. The former lost a third of their weight, 100 pounds, and the latter lost a nearly half of their weight, say 175 pounds. Therefore, the person that weighed 300 pounds, after losing 100 pounds, now weighs 200 pounds. The person that weighed 400 pounds, after losing 175 pounds, now weighs 225 pounds. The person that, in the end, weighs 225 pounds WILL be the winner, even though they technically still weigh more that the other person. Why? Because they are the Biggest Loser - they LOST the BIGGEST percentage of their weight (nearly half vs. a third.) Capish? :) That is why both men and women can compete simultaneously because the end result measures percentage of weight lost in comparison to original weight - nothing else.

Then you are just creating an unnecessary paradox. It's the smallest winner, not the biggest loser. That explanation makes no sense to me for some reason.

Well, I'm sorry but that's how the game works. Explain to me otherwise how both men and women can compete at the same time and there be a man winner sometimes and a woman winner other times - the women will always be smaller.
