Harry Potter/Hermione Granger never happened, though.

What about Night of the Living Dead?

One exception is In Time - Justin Timberlake's mom is Olivia Wilde, and I'm pretty sure they aren't in love.

Amanda Seyfried though

Exactly... there was an attractive woman who he didn't fall in love with.

Of COURSE he didn't fall in love with his mom. But his mother was an attractive woman. Read the post again. An attractive woman was introduced and he did not fall in love with her. He fell in love with a different attractive woman. Olivia Wilde is still the exception.

I don't think they mean every attractive character in the film. They mean that if the lead (in this case Justin Timberlake) becomes involved with an attractive member of the opposite sex (Amanda and not Olivia because Amanda is the lead and Olivia is...his mom), there will be some romance. It wouldn't make sense to have him fall in love with his mom. But Amanda was involved in the story and he didn't have to fall in love with her, but because of the Hollywood logic explained in this post, he did

"If there is a somewhat attractive character that is the opposite sex of the main character introduced into the storyline, they MUST fall in love, no exceptions." It doesn't say he falls in love after becoming involved. It says that he will fall in love with any attractive woman introduced to the storyline. Period.

The post isn't saying that every attractive person in the storyline will become involved with the protagonist. I'm almost positive that OP is pointing out that if there is another attractive person to become involved with the lead, they will most likely have a romance. This does not mean EVERY attractive woman should be with Justin Timberlake; but Amanda, who was the chosen attractive woman for the film, ended up with him
