+308 Trying to censor the internet is total bullshit. Sites like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Amirite would have to censor their users or get shut down since they are liable for everything users post. Any ordinary users like you and I could go to jail for five years for posting any copyrighted work, such as singing a song. So much for freedom of speech and the First Amendment... amirite?

On one hand, listening to the song on YouTube robs the artist of money. But so does reading a book at the library. Someone bought the song or the book, and now it is shared. On the other hand, how many times have you heard a great song on YouTube or read a fantastic library book and gone out and bought it?

I dont see how listening to a song on youtube is any worse than hearing it on the radio. You have ads on both nowadays too so it can't be about that.

Well, people need to realize that the entertainment industry today do not even contribute much to our economy anyways. Also, people are crafty... blocking a few sites is not going to stop them from downloading pirated stuff.
