+124 Even if you like Obama, you have to admit that it's pretty bad that he hasn't fulfilled any of his original promises, amirite?

All I know is he doesn't hold prayer rallies that he claims helps the world, which automatically puts him above Rick Perry.

How do people disagree with this? You think it's a good thing that he flat out lied about his intentions?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think people disagree because they don't like Obama...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The "even if" implies that I'm talking to both his supporters and opponents. I thought.

The issue is that the statement doesn't allow for any other options. Some would argue that he has fulfilled at least a few of his promises, at least to some extent, so they object to the post.

That's why I voted NW, because he has kept some of his promises and some others he met the republicans half way on. No leader can keep all of the promises they make before they are elected.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Just because he hasn't fulfilled any promises doesn't mean he's made no effort. He can't just do whatever he wants.

Even if you're a Republican, you have to admit your party has done its best to prevent Obama from doing anything productive to benefit its own agenda.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This. Also, it turns out it's a lot harder than it looks to change the world as the president, sometimes things don't work out when you have an opposition congress who refuses to budge on ANYTHING.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

All of the presidents have not fufilled promises that they made in the begining. It's not just Obama who did it, it's a part of history. And if you don't believe me, look it up

He would be doing a lot better if the repubs wouldn't cock block him every step of the way. It took forever to get the stimulus and health bill passed because he kept having to beg the republicans to no be jackasses and actually help their people. Yea he could do more but at least he's not fucking up.

Think about this: if something goes wrong with your school, who do you blame? The principal, even if its not her fault. Second metaphor: You might try to do things that you said you would, but if your parents say that you need to help them do yard work all day, you might not do your promise, and you'll be arguing with them

by Anonymous 12 years ago

He actually has kept most of his promises. I got this from PolitiFact.com: http://ctrlv.in/49991

He tries to, but republicans shoot him down. He could be like "Okay, if we pass this law, it will end poverty for ever!" but since he's democratic all republicans would be lie "lol no bye."

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's the way the economy is right now. He started his term at a rough period. It doesn't help that everyone is against him. Now I know he hasn't done any of his promises but still...
