Wait so... tin can needs to be collected by separate rubbish truck (fuel), sorted in an energy-hungry recycling plant, smelted down (more pollution/energy costs) to retrieve the steel from it, then transported out again as a new steel can in a different truck (more fuel again). How is this the environmentally friendly option sorry? I know this isn't a popular opinion but recycling is not so good, and kinda overhyped. There's better alternatives which are far less inefficient, like reusing or incentivising industry to develop different materials/building materials/minimise packaging etc.
