I don't think most people who commit acts of terrorism are told that they are getting 72 virgins.

..... Really? The whole thing behind the most commonly known terrorists is that they are extremists who are doing those acts in the name of their god. So they think that if they kill people, mainly Christians, that they will go to Heaven and be rewarded with a bunch of virgins. (What they don't know is that they never specified virgin girls... )

Actually, no where in the Qu'ran does it state that a martyr will get 72 virgins if they commit martyrdom. That is a fallacy that has been put into peoples heads. Also, in most cases, the acts being committed, i.e. suicide missions, are being carried out that way because that is the only way these people have left to fight against foreign occupation and attacks. I am in know way saying what they do is right, just passing along what I have learned. If you would really like to get inside the head of someone who commits these acts read "The Making of a Human Bomb:An ethnography of Palestinian Resistance" by Nasser Abufarha.

I learned that the Quran states that one who dies fighting for his religion and in the name of Allah, will be rewarded with eternal paradise and 72 virgins. So for them to kill those people is how they get into their heaven
