+195 Girls: You'd rather be a bitch than a whore, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well I'm not a girl, but I'd much rather be a dog than a prostitute.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'd rather be a prostitute than a dog. Live way longer and have the intellectual capabilities of actually making decisions...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

But dogs are happy ALL THE FUCKING TIME!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Life would be much simpler as a dog.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Not all bitches are bad. Some are very funny.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Honestly I'd rather be a nice person that just has sex with a lot of people wary

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well, who says you can't be?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think some dude said that.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Whore in the literal sense, or whore as in I enjoy and engage in lots of sex? If the latter, whore. Although, tbh mostly girls get called bitches simply for being authoritative/confident, so I see nothing wrong with that either.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Girls get called bitches for ANYTHING. I didn't sit with one of my "friends" at lunch one day in middle school so she decided it would only be fair to tell everyone that I'm a bitch.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You'd rather be horrible to people than enjoy sex? I think priorities are a little muddled when being a jerk to others is considered a better trait than enjoying/having sex...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I agreed because I feel like bitch is thrown around so much that it doesn't really mean that much. I still wouldn't want someone to call me a bitch, but I wouldn't care as much. I feel like whore has a lot to do with reputation. You can enjoy sex but you don't want to be thought of as "that easy girl that sleeps with everyone" which is what people would think if they heard you were a whore.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well, when I say bitch, I didn't mean it to the extent where you're making people cry everyday and causing suicide. I just meant it as a general term. By whore, I mean the girls who have no respect or standards for themselves and throw themselves at every guy that comes their way.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Okay, that doesn't solve anything. Having sex with multiple people does not mean they "have no respect or standards for themselves". It means they like sex and choose to have it. Which is not a bad thing at all, and therefore still better than being a "bitch", even if it isn't as extreme as making people cry everyday and causing suicide

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The word "whore" implies that that person has no respect or standards for themselves. In my opinion, enjoying sex and being a whore are two different things. A whore is likely to enjoy sex but you can enjoy sex without being a whore.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

So how do you decide when a woman has self-respect or not? I don't really think you have any place making that judgment simply based of off factors (like promiscuity) - and, if someone truly doesn't respect themselves, obviously dehumanising them for it is not going to be doing any favours.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I don't think you really understand what I'm saying. I'm saying it's an ignorant stereotype to think that promiscuity and self-respect are mutually exclusive (or at least inversely proportional). Where did you get the idea I was trying to enforce that promiscuity is best? There's nothing wrong with abstinence either, or something in between. I know it isn't for everyone. I never said it was. I'm just saying you should stop shaming women who are. Just because you "don't prefer that lifestyle", it doesn't give you any right to shame those who do. Regardless, I STILL think being a bitch "in the general sense of the word" (which is being horrible to others) is still better than being a "whore", for which the general meaing is taken to be a promiscuous woman.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I completely agree with that point. The solution, then, is to stop calling women whores. And no, it should not be left as an extreme, because even as an extreme there is no situation where it is okay to shame women for having consensual sex. * The idea that it will never fade exists because people continue to use it - the argument essentially boils down to "everybody else does it so it's okay for me to as well". (* Editing this because it had an unfortunate implication. I do not mean it's okay to shame women who are rape victims either; I meant it as the woman being the rapist in this scenario. Just to clarify.)

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Does there HAVE to be something you can shame people for? And sex doesn't have to have an "elevated status". I don't think you're understanding that in order to NOT shame promiscuity, we don't have to shame chastity. Both are equally fine. It's possible to shame neither. And there are things that people should be shamed for - things that hurt others. Like prejudice, crime, etc. Try shaming things that are actually harmful, so they'll stop. How is it a bad thing to NOT want you to shame people over harmless choices, and their gender?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

But the two are different. A "bitch" is being horrible to other people - which, in my opinion, is fair game to shame people for. Being nasty to others is NOT okay. And I wasn't acting like one lifestyle is clearly better. I was only defending one because chastity doesn't need defending; it's already considered superior. Edit: I'm not super mad at you or anything. It's just that slut-shaming is not a good attitude to have, but so many people seem to think it's okay. I actually like debating, I'm not trying to have a go at you personally.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Men may prefer it when women are horrible to each other, but that doesn't make it okay. It is not acceptable to be a jerk to others, regardless of whether some third party finds it attractive. If you don't have the approval of the person on the receiving end, that isn't okay. I know there are groups who support either, and both are equally wrong in doing so. Either lifestyle is fine. It doesn't affect anyone except the woman and her sex partner(s), provided it's consensual of course.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Now that, I can totally agree with! I didn't realise you meant it ironically, as in being called a "bitch" for being outspoken, not a doormat, rejecting someone, etc. I thought you meant the actual sense of the word; someone who is a jerk to others. And yes, they are both targetting women and therefore the actual term itself (excluding definition) is problematic. I was going to mention that above but didn't really want to complicate the issue until we'd finished talking about this part, hehe.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

When I meant whores, I don't mean the kind of people who enjoy sexual intercourse in general. I mean the people who are cheating on their husbands/ boyfriends, and the high school and middle school girls who've had sex with about 20 different guys.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well, nice to come to an agreement! Thanks for the debate, it was awesome to see someone remain so civil throughout. :)

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah, I honestly didn't mean it for people to take the terms so literally. I was just talking about how they're generally used today.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

A whore is someone who sleeps with everyone. A bitch is someone who sleeps with everyone but you. My dad used to always say that as a joke.
