Ice skating is technically "walking on water", amirite?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Why is this downvoted? Ice is a form of water.

Two of the lowest posts today involve ice and walking on water.

No, it's skating on ice. Water is a liquid form, ice is a solid form.

Water is the liquid form of H2O I believe... Correct me if i'm wrong.

"Water" in science can be used for multiple forms: "water vapor" (gas) "liquid water" (liquid) "ice water" or "frozen water". I'm in astronomy and we refer to the poles on Mars as being "frozen liquid water ice caps".

Okay, so it is not just the liquid form then, my bad.

If you walk on wet pavement you are technically walking on water...
