+232 In today's society, it's getting harder and harder to be yourself, amirite?

I think that with new products and technologies, comes new ways for people to express themselves, and, yes, people aren't always open-minded, but I think they we've come a long way since enslaving different races and killing followers of different religions. Peer pressure may be at it's height - I don't know - but people seem generally more accepting nowadays.

wrong. more people are being stuck-up, because, well, they ARE stuck-up. its not getting harder to be yourself, people just are trying to change themselves. thats their personality (as annoying as it is)

I agree with the people above, because there seems to be more ways than ever and more acceptance in general, but people are just becoming more fearful of being themselves in front of others. :/ Kinda pathetic, really.

I think it's sometimes harder to know who your TRUE self is nowadays...

What does that even mean? You really can't be someone else even if you tried.

Only if you're stupid and weak enough to let society control you. I don't get why its so important what other people think of you. Be who you want to be, its simple.
