actually, every other letter is designated its own meaning, d=diameter, r = radius, l = length , w = width, and so on and so forth

yeah, but those are generally the ones they use because they look least like numbers. i.e. O looks like #0. Also, the capital version of the letter has to look different than the lowercase version when being written out to avoid confusion.

oh yeah o; i guess you're right about the x and the c, but the Y and y can be written differently. blah, idk.
