-6 No one's really cool once you get to know them, amirite?

No one's really cool *until you get to know them.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think you and I have different definitions of cool. I'm using it Fonzie style, not whether or not they're a good or interesting person.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

:'(

by Anonymous 12 years ago

See: above. I mean like calm, cool and collected type cool, or like the "cool kids" you'd see bullying the nerds in old high school movies.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

you mean like the kids who never seem to get too angry or excited or emotional about anything?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Exactly. I've met a lot of people like that, but by the time I get to know them, I discover they do, in fact, have a personality. It's kind of hard to put into words, since I'm probably the only person under forty who still uses this definition of cool, but it seems like you've got it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I use that definition sometimes too, but I use the other one more out of habit. It's also harder to tell what people mean over the internet.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Makes sense. I almost never use it to mean anything else. For that, I'm more likely to say "awesome", or "legendary".

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Let me guess, you're Canadian Barney Stinson?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Being the Canadian Barney Stinson is almost contradictory in itself. But yeah, take away the whoremongering, and you're about right.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Take away that and you have almsot nothing.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I've got catchphrases, unbelievable good looks, a love of lazer tag and magic, I'm always butting in on my friends problems, and can occasionally be pettier than I'd like to admit. But, if you insist, I'll monger whores. Just for you.

As long as you marry Robin at the end of the series. Or at least get some closure on it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Barney'll definitely get with Robin. I've been calling it for so long, but all my friends though he'd end up with Norah. The fools.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

My sister said he'd end up with Nora because Robin still has to resolve things with the guy from the clothing store they said she'd meet again. But if my theory about Ted marrying Barney's half-sister is right, then they really will be Aunt Robin and Uncle Barney!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Him? I doubt he's coming back. I think Ted's going to marry that girl he physically bumped into at a party. There are a lot of theories about her floating around, and they make a bit of sense. That could work, if Barney had a half sister. He has two half brothers. James, and that kid. His dad seems to honest to hide something like that, but I suppose his mom might. Except, we already saw the moment when Barney became uncle Barney (when he got hit by the bus).

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Barney's dad casually mentioned his "daughter Carly" who's "in college". Ted's future wife is in college at this point in the story, and given how they love continuity porn where they always bring back random characters barely mentioned before and dropping hints at future continuity, I think it's possible. It's also why I think they'll bring him back, because they said they would and they love continuity. Wait, what? I thought he was just always Uncle Barney.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Really? I only really know the first four seasons, since I've watched through them a few times, so that must've slipped my mind. But that's the exact same reason a lot of people say it was that girl at the party. But yours sounds really plausible, too. Knowing this show, she's definitely going to appear, and there's a good chance she'll at least date Ted, so maybe. After Barney ends up in the hospital after the whole Robin fight at the end of season 3, Barney, Ted and Marshall start hugging and exclaiming that they're all brothers now. Bob Saget Ted narrates "And kids, that's when Barney became your uncle Barney."

by Anonymous 12 years ago

What girl at a party? OOoohhhh. I only saw that episode once or twice, so I don't remember the details.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This video doesn't completely explain why people think it's her, but it touches upon some of the key points. Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4D-4bjMSZtQ

by Anonymous 12 years ago

She looks a little old to be a student in college , but I'd believe it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not everyone goes to college right out of high school. Besides, Ted's in his thirties. It'd make sense if she was a bit older than the average high school student. Unrelated note, sorry for not replying to your message yet. might've gotten eight hours of sleep this week,s so I'm a bit too out of it to not sound like an idiot. I probably sound like an idiot right now.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Nah, you're fine. I keep thinking they're going to make the mom blond though, because all of Ted's recent major girlfriends,- Zoe, Karen, the roommate's girlfriend, the random blond chick who he joked about being their mom- they were all blond.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't think she'll be blonde. Near the time Stella left him, Ted mentions that if he'd followed her advice the story would be over, and Stella would be their mom. When that happens, we cut back to the future, and the kids are blonde. I think that means the kids are supposed to share their moms hair colour.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

He only made them blonde to show a difference I think. They couldn't have the same hair color as they do now because Stella already had a blonde daughter.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're the one who just mentioned how meticulous the writers are. Then again, I tend to over analyze things...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They are meticulous, but I think they only made Stella and Ted's kids blond to differentiate between the two futures. But if it were the chick he bumped into, I'd totally believe it. i think they have various things planted throughout the series so they can make it go in different directions if they change their minds about where they want it to go later on.

i find the opposite, many cases.
