+456 why does it seem that celebrities on date/marry other celebrities? Do doctors only date doctors? Lawyers to lawyers? Just because you're famous doesn't mean there's not a normal and sweet person out there who doesn't love you for you, amirite?

I agree completely, but it's like friendship cliques in schools. You only hang/date people you know, right?

Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush? She wasn't famous until that video ;D.

Sorry but if I was a celebrity I'd be going straight for George Clooney.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well yeah, but at least with another celebrity you can be more assured that they're not just with you for your fame.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not completely but it's more likely. Another celebrity could only want to date you for publicity.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I agree, but it's a thing. You can't date someone if they don't appear to be in the same social circles.

its not like they associate with the masses so they don't have that oppurtunity. And a lot of normal people not use to the spotlight can't adjust to be constantly monitered by the tabloids and the lack of privacy so it drives them apart.

I think the girl Kevin Jonas married wasn't famous.

Yes, but it's Kevin Jonas...

I'm guessing the two biggest reasons are: 1) People "in the business" understand the demands, pressures, and requirements they have to deal with, and it's hard for someone who hasn't been around it to relate or understand, which causes hurt feelings and misunderstandings. Those things = drama. 2) It's seems to me that it might be hard to really trust, when you meet an "average person", that they don't just want to be with you because you're famous/rich. They have to be constantly wary of con artists and people looking to take advantage... when someone's on your level socially/economically you start on a more even "playing field". Even if they're further their career by being with you, who's to say you're not reaping equal rewards? Anyway, just my thoughts.

it seems to me that if i were a celebrity, marrying a fellow celeb would just prove to be easier; we already have a lot in common (as we're both in 'the business'), my partner would be used to and understand the demands of my career, there's a lesser chance that they're with me for fame and money, it's good publicity, and we most likely know a lot of the same people. plus, celebs are generally ridiculously HOT. that's what anyone would want in a relationship.

"I'm your biggest fan, I'll follow you until you love me.." <-- THAT might be why. :L

I think somebody has a celebrity crush...

How are you supposed to meet normal people when you only meet celebrities? The only non-famous people that celebrities meet are probably their insane fans. Would you wanna date that?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

because they only really interact with celebrities.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually most doctors marry doctors... Just saying...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Celebrities only date celebrities for the same reason normal people only date normal people - we don't have many opportunities to get to know celebrities, and they don't have many opportunities to get to know us.
