+110 Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important, amirite?

I disagree. Whether or not it's true, its fingerprints can be seen everywhere. It affects everything from personal lives to politics, both positively and negatively. Regardless if you're Christian, it's something that we all (in America at least) are submerged in. Even if it's not true you can't say it is of no importance because of how (again both positively and negatively) influential it's been.

You're missing the point my friend. Its a quote from C.S. Lewis targeted for those who consider Christianity to be moderately important. Your comment is accurate, but you're looking at a small piece of the puzzle, and not the grand scheme of things. If Christianity is true, it has an eternal impact, therefore it is of "infinite importance." If it is not true, than taking it into consideration that we're talking about eternity here, it is of no importance, because the politics are run on a scale of eternity mean next to nothing. See what I mean? Either way, you can take it up with C.S. Lewis, the man is regarded as the modern Shakespeare and is a pure genius :P

Yet why is a treated that way by so many 'Christians'. A lot of people I know claim to be Christian (like on their fb) and yet never have any regard toward God, the bible, or Jesus. Theyre lukewarm, and the bible says God will spew them out of his mouth.

There are dozens (probably hundreds) of current religions that punish people for not believing in their gods or for not following their moral code. There are ancient religions long forgotten and future religions not yet created, not to mention an infinite number of possible gods. Knowing which religion, if any, is of vital "importance" is a complete crapshoot. Your religion is of no more likelihood than the tribal belief systems you've never heard of. Yes, one religion may be of infinite importance, but the probability of you choosing correctly is remote. Just follow the beliefs that suit you, lead a loving life, and fuck bitches.

Assuming the deity is benevolent, sure, it makes sense for it to want to guide as many people as possible to the truth (then again, gods work in mysterious ways.) Just because a religion is obscure doesn't mean a deity did not attempt to guide humanity to it. Human error could have steered us away from the guidance that the god believed to be quite obvious. Maybe there's a god waiting for us to die so it can say "I gave you Zoroaster, you dumbasses, why did no one believe him?" or "Maybe if you guys weren't so busy enslaving and converting Africans, you would have noticed that I showed them the true path to heaven."

I do know. I don't know. I didn't know. I also just found out that Herod ordered the killing of all toddlers after the Magi did not return to him with an update on the Yeshua ben Yosef's birth. If a deity were benevolent and completely omniscient, I would hope that it would choose to successfully guide more than 30% of humanity.

I just like how in ancient times, the world was so small that you could say "Daniel, son of Edward" or "Daniel of Philadelphia" and know exactly who that is. I find it interesting for some reason.
