-90 Teenagers: a huge reason you might not want a touch screen is because you can't text as easily in school, amirite?

I think it might be easier because there's no clicking to have to hide.

How 'bout you just wait until school's over to text? I've never understood this... *shrug*

Because that's 8 hours that takes up the majority of my day. I'd rather text at school if I have nothing to do and I'm bored than have it as a distraction when I'm home doing homework.

But chances are you're going to text when you're doing homework anyway, regardless of whether or not you texted during the school day.

Not particularly. If I don't have anything to do at school, why not text? I'm motivated to get my work done when I'm at home. I used texting as a prize for myself.. Like I don't check my phone until after I'm done with everything. It really works out--I'm good about getting everything done.

I guess you have a good point if you know how to manage your time. It's not typical for most teenagers to set the phone aside until homework is done, so texting in school and at home isn't getting those people anywhere.

The idea of someone borrowing my phone and having their grubby fingers all over it is part of the reason I don't want one, the other is that it's probably gonna break a lot quicker than my current phone which I can throw into a wall with no damage, and because all the phones I've seen that have touch screens aren't phones (in my opinion), they're games.

They're not games, they're computers with calling/texting capabilities.

Same thing in my eyes, they've got a lot of useless junk that I don't need on my phone.

There's also a lot of useful things. As an art student, mine is really helpful. I can take notes, I have photoshop, a really good camera, etc. I also have Pandora, a GPS, and of course amirite. It's more helpful than anything else.

Okay, fine, whatever. I'll still never get one.
