If its a macaroni noodle I'll call it macaroni. If its a ziti noodle, I'll call it ziti. And so on

Macaroni is a shape of pasta. It looks like a short, bent tube. Noodles are more like spaghetti. Macaroni and cheese is the cheesy dish. There is also macaroni in soup or in various sauces. I I dumped cheese on spaghetti, it would still be a type of noodle.
