It seems that humans are meant to hold hands. When fully grown, tall people have long arms and short people have shorter arms, so hands are usually at about the same level, amirite?

Do you not see the second word? Seems implies that it may not be true, but it just appears that way.

Exactly. Seems also implies a certain level of doubt. The way ctiscooler used it, plus his vote, means that he doesn't even think it seems to be, showing absolute doubt, or complete disbelief. The point of my post is what it looks like, not what it probably is.
