Another reason why electric guitars are overall better than acoustic. Especially now since you can tune one to sound exactly like an acoustic.

Actually electric and acoustic guitars sound almost the same, its the effect pedals and amps that make electric guitars sound different. Unplugged they sound the same except an acoustic is louder and has a cleaner sound

If you plug one into an amp, and know how to tune it, you can make it sound just like an acoustic. I tried it with my dad's I really couldn't tell the difference. Acoustics are better in that they don't need and amp and some are easier to hold and are lighter.

You should get a Vox apmlug, it plugs into your guitar and you can plug your headphones into it. They're pretty sweet

I got the iRig which you plug into your iPod touch. You connect your headphones/speakers and guitar to the little device and BAM! An amp for only YOUR ears! It sounds really good too, I can't play my electric guitar without it really. It's pretty cheap, cheaper than that Vox thing someone posted about above, if I'm correct.
