How so? I stated up there that there is even beauty in the things a lot of people find ugly. I stated here that even if something is truly ugly, which I think is very opinionated, there is still something beautiful about it.
Nature is nature, If everything was perfect, it'd have been heaven. Whenever I say that nature is beautiful, I'm not saying that nature is perfect. I may not want to see some things that happen naturally but the beauty that lies in nature is so much more than man can ever create/has ever created.
Hmm, I know that beauty isn't the same thing as perfection.
People seem to be offended by my use of the word "ugly". Ugly just means "unpleasant or repulsive." Surely you agree that some things in nature are unpleasant or repulsive?
Yup, I get your point. And yes, people seem to get easily offended when you call something ugly. But you don't see people calling the 'ugliness' beautiful amirite? I mean, I don't think anyone has ever watched this video and said it's beautiful. Hilarious, yes. Beautiful, no. But I disagree with the part where you say that saying "nature is beautiful" is a cliche. Is it really a cliche just because there are a few things extremely gross?
Assuming you're a straight guy or a lesbian, if you met an extremely beautiful woman, with mesmerising eyes, soft lips and glowing hair, and if she ripped out a fart, would it make her less beautiful? You might get offended, or be repulsed by what she did, but it wouldn't make her less beautiful right?
I realised I could sum up what I said in just one or two sentences. I don't have to be 100% crazy for you to call me crazy. A jerk can be 10% nice but he is still a jerk because of that 90%. You can add one spoon of water to a glass of fresh fruit juice and people would still call it juice. Likewise, nature can be gross but most things that happen in nature are beautiful in some way, so it's not really a cliche.
Ever tried watching a tree grow? How about those nature documentary filmmakers who have to wait months and months to get a single shot of something exciting happening? Pretty boring.
That's a tree. Or at least that's how it's been engraved into your mind. Trees come in a million and one shapes, so it would be pretty fun to watch how it changes over an extensive period of time. It might have short branches, It could be two feet tall, It could become the home to fruits or animals. There's actually a tree growing in my backyard that I check on periodically. And living outdoors for a while to see an animal living freely doesn't sound too bad. I might sound like a stupid nature hugger here, but it can be pretty great if you pay attention to the details.
Well, I guess it sounds pessimistic to call nature half-ugly. But when people say "nature is beautiful", I think they're talking about orchards of spring flowers or snow-topped mountains. They aren't thinking about things like spiders pooping or decomposing elephants or other ugly things that are even more common than the beautiful stuff.
Look closely at all those "ugly" things and you'll see thousands of tiny lifeforms, moving about at random, simply doing as they please. And life is what's beautiful about nature.
elephants pooping is more common that flowers? you SEE elephants poop more than you see spring FLOWERS?!?! lol.
Nature is one of the most beautiful things. Even elephants pooping, is pretty entertaining...
Nature is fantastic.
I said elephants decomposing...it's the spiders that were pooping
And no I don't, but every animal has to decompose at some point, and I think it's pretty much always ugly when it happens.
Something can be fantastic yet ugly.
I think that the mere fact that nature exists on its own is beautiful, even if nature itself isn't always so.
So do you agree that nature itself is often ugly/boring or not? You contradicted yourself from up there^

You don't have to keep downvoting me...I'm just trying to have a conversation with you.
Sorry, I sort of misunderstood wat you were saying.

I can see what you're saying with the "ugly" part of nature, but I don't think it can ever be called "boring".

The cup is half empty I see

Do you think beauty can coexist with ugliness? I see your point but I still think there are common things in nature that are ugly to behold.
The fact that nature can be ugly and boring is part of the beauty.
