+82 It's pretty stupid that people who try to commit suicide are seen as crazy and locked up. I think it should be up to the person whether they want to live, not society. We don't get the choice whether we're born, but we should be allowed to decide whether our life is worth continuing, amirite?

You already have the ability to kill yourself, and you shouldnt look at those people as denying your right to kill yourself, and maybe more as people who genuinely care and love you

You wouldn't want someone to come in and change your life, give you something to live for and a way to cope with all your pain? You'd want to die having lived a hopeless life?

Sometimes people aren't in their right mind when they make an attempt. Certain medications, for instance, can cause suicidal thoughts.

I lost a cousin to a bad blend of alcohol and anti-depressants.

Killing yourself is still technically murder... As ironic as that sounds.

yes. sure, the person should seek help from friends first, but if they have no one to go to then i see why they would want to. anyone else watch walking dead? if they failed, they made their choice to stay alive and therefore shouldnt be locked up. if i ever got locked up for trying to kill myself i would give a very good effort to break out and kill those who stopped me. dont annoy a sleeping bear, let it sleep its life away if it wants. who are you to decide

I don't think people that attempt, or think about suicide are crazy. Honestly, everyone has probably been at a very low point in life. But it's NOT okay to take your own life. If you're at that point, find motivation. Somewhere! Sports, a hobby. Being involved always makes people feel valued. A girl at my school killed herself this year. Everyone was in tears and hugging strangers. People love you.. God loves you :)

If all the people in your school loved her, then how the hell did absolutely no one notice that she wanted to?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

She was in all honors, and did many sports. She killed herself because of pressure. She had lots of friends, no one knew. That probably makes them feel worse

by Anonymous 12 years ago

iI promise you that anyone who was truly her friend ...would have seen it coming. You can tell when somethings wrong if you honestly care.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I never knew her. You don't know the situation and you're being very disrespectful.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Im not being disrespectful. I know people that committed suicide. My stepmom did. People give off this certain feeling when they want to die. People aren't that different.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If you knew she was going to kill herself why didn't you do something? That's even worse than the people not knowing.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You can't convince someone not to kill themself if they really want to. I tried.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

25% of ALL people who commit suicide show no traits to suggest depression, suicidal tendencies, or a change in their average persona. That means 1 in 4 suicides where completely unnoticeable before hand

You'd be surprised how easy it can be to hide the fact that you're having suicidal thoughts.

somebody at my school killed themselves 2 this year. he was popular. nobody saw it coming. i find it odd how somebody, who can make nearly an entire school cry just by being gone, cant see how valuable they are. its like that saying "you never know what you got til its gone" its very ironic how everyone cares for and pours their heart out to people after theyre gone. when this kid died, i thot "maybe i should kill myself 2... then people might notice me" i was (still am) kind of a nobody at school. idk what im getting at. i just think that when a person kills/tries to kill themself, theyve missed something. something very important. nobody will ever be able to calculate the worth of a human being.
