+393 We've all experienced hunger to the point of painful stomach aches. It makes it hard to imagine what actual starvation must feel like, amirite?

I'm not proud to say this, but I have been in starvation mode. You start to forget what hunger truly feels like. Even if your stomach growls, you may not necessarily clue in its because you need food. If you don't include the other effects of what not eating does to you (weakness, losing hair etc) not eating ends up being a normal thing. You can go through a whole day and only eat a granola bar and think you're "full".

This isn't real starvation, but one day I woke up around 7 and was gone all day, and didn't get the chance to eat again until 6 o'clock that night, but at that point was convinced I wasn't hungry at all... Weird.

Sometimes you just get so hungry that you're not hungry anymore.
