Magic is all about how you interpret it. Sure we don't have flying cars, or magic wands, but we do have technology that allows us to talk to someone thousands of miles away, doors that open for us, and access to all sorts of information at the touch of the button. It's just a matter of perspective, amirite?
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. ~Arthur C. Clarke.

Slow down there, I'm still trying to find out how they get the rabbit out of that hat...
From a magician, it's easier than you might think ;)
It's science not Magic.
Magic has its own science
From where Thor's from, they're the same thing.
Blasphemer! Science is magic.
I know, Dad. GOSH JUST GO BACK TO YOUR CAVE, AND LET ME SOCIALIZE IN PEACE!
No Timmy, now go clean out your hole!
i am going to cut to the chase and say that i want a god damn teleporter, and not another fucking i-phone compass.
A man floating in an ancient tribe can be seen as normal to them, but if we come in with a simple watch, they might think its magic. vis-versa to us. We might think the floating man is magic, and the watch is normal to us. So it is all perspective.
A man... floating?
Or some form of witchcraft. If that works better for you
Yeah but that doesn't happen because magic doesn't exist. Uneducated people could explain things away by saying magic, but you'd never see a group of scientists or something decide that the default for something they didn't understand was "magic".
Don't be an asshole, there are things that scientists can't explain, sure they don't call it magic, but it's as good as saying it's magic, because it doesn't do anyone any good. So it might as well be called magic.... Anyway, if someone says it's magic at least they're admitting that they don't know, which I see as a good thing.
Or they could just admit they don't know. That's better than trying to come up with some covering reason and then ignoring the problem.
I disagree with your reasoning, admitting that you don't know the answer and saying that the answer is magic are two different things. If you admit that you don't know what something is you can actively work towards finding the actual answer. It's the complete opposite of sweeping it under the rug by calling it magic. What makes me an asshole for pointing that out?
"There is no such thing as miracles or the supernatural... only cutting-edge technology"- Revolver Ocelot
And sometimes, magic is FORCED PERSPECTIVE!
OOOOOOOH!!
I view it as an awesome card game
An awesome card game?
Eh. Here's the def:
Magic
Noun: The power of apparently influencing the course of events by using mysterious or supernatural forces.
Technology isn't any form of magic because it's understandable; it's not a matter of perspective at all. Disagree with OP.
Actually If you took our technology back in time to say, the 1860s most would assume its magic, note the APPARENTLY in the definition. It appears to be supernatural or mysterious, usually it just means forces that can't be comprehended
Haha, you'd have to go a bit farther back in time bro. 1860s is post enlightenment, and still very close to the invention of the lightbulb.
Now, if you went back to the Salem Witch trials...
helicopters and cloning, what demon magic is that!?
Yu-Gi-Oh! isn't all that awesome.
MAGIC THE GATHERING -_-
Is that a tuner monster?
the most awesome of card games.
Actually, magic is when the implement defies logic and constants in the known universe. And an illusion is when it just seems to.
A telephone wouldn't even be magic in the 13th century.
Some people might think it was, because belief in magic was commonplace back then, but a scientist would know that there is just mechanics going on there that they don't yet understand.
Yes, but that was the thirteenth century. And if magic is real, then what is an actual example of magic. A potion of immortality, a spell? Perhaps it is something different, something that defies what we expect it to be. Maybe we've already made it. We have hover trains, why not?
I remember when this was on the just-in page on chat. Those were the days.
Porn is some of the greatest magic ever.
But unfortunately, we'll never get to magic wands or flying cars at the rate we're going.
At least in the USA. Home of the stupid.
Please, that's far beneath <1% of the population who actually have good ideas and inventions.
I'll appreciate us more when it's larger. Or when people aren't stupid. I can't give a country credit when its police are allowed to kill black people without reason and an accused owner's pet, both without consequence. Nor can I appreciate a country who doesn't realize that gay people are actually people, and that abortion is up to the woman, and that Christianity isn't fact.
Honestly? Canada's better. I plan on moving there when I'm older.
The USA may deserve your appreciation, but not mine. Sorry for having an opinion.
Yeah, police are definitely allowed to just go around killing black people.
Lol. Obvious troll.
First of all, George Zimmerman isn't a police officer. Also, his final ruling hasn't yet been established. And finally, there is no conclusive evidence that his account of what happened isn't true. If anything, Treyvon Martin being black is helping the prosecutors in the Zimmerman case. That is, after all, the sole reason there is so much rampaging and not wanting the legal system to work by itself.
Gay
u no my name nOT my story >://
And the greedy. I'm dying to punch every greedy, corrupt politician square in the face. And a few more punches for anyone who thinks doubling the interest rates on student loans is ok.
WHY IS THIS POTD?!?!?!?!?! http://ctrlv.in/84047
"There is no such thing as magic. Or science. There is only your cat." - Favvkes
"I'm not sure if I've got one of those or not." -Schrödinger
Just keep telling yourself that

I don't think Favvkes ever said that, actually.
Since this is my own POTD i feel like i should get auto-loves on any comment i make
I'll go ahead and rate this comment down, then.
Perhaps for other reasons than you hoped...
