That would be ridiculous, people should have the choice whether or not to take birth control. I agree that birth control should be used more often but making it mandatory would be like China's One-child policy. And not every girl begins menstruation at 14. Also the Pill (which I assume you're referring to when you say birth control) can be very expensive and doesn't protect from STDs or STIs and it's not even 100% effective. I think people should use whatever birth control they feel comfortable using as long as it's safe and with a consensual partner.
Birth control goes against certain religious views for many people. Are they supposed to take birth control against their will?
While I certainly do not condone teenage pregnancy, the government does not have the right to force women to take birth control. They have no say in our reproductive habits. And why only women? Why not make it illegal for a man to have sex without using a condom? Birth control isn't just the girl's responsibility.
Although I agree it should be mandatory (if they even have sex) from that age until around 18, or when they have a job or a house. Though that law would be pretty hard to enforce...
Why should a girl who's not having sex be forced to use birth control? Believe it or not, there are still girls who lose their virginity at later ages than 18.
The longer you take the pill you can actually screw with your system. That's why doctors (when using it for period control and regularity) only prescribe it to adolescent girls who have severe issues.
I didn't know that. I'm on the pill because of god awful cramps, they think I have scarring in my uterus or something it has a name but I don't remember, but I'm pretty adolescent girls can get birth control just because they don't wanna get pregnant.
They can, but my point is that the earlier you start on it and the longer you stay on it, the higher your chance for issues. A lot of doctors will only subscribe the pill to girls with severe issues to avoid this happening.
The girls now a days believe that it is okay to get pregnant at a young age, they should have the 5 year until they are old enough and responsible to have children. once a girl turns 18 THEN they can make the decision to have children because legally they are adults. Most girls are relying on their parents to raise their children, now is that fair to the parents of these kids having kids. i have had several girls close to me turn to abortion or adoption or relying on their parents to raise their children. it makes me sick to think that aome of these girls could give a shit less about their kids, where there are many women trying to have a child that can't.
Actually, there's been at least one case of a pregnancy pact, where teenage girls made an agreement to all have kids together. Also, I've seen teens being really excited that they're pregnant.
So basically no one ever has any children at all ever again. Great plan.
Well except for people 14 and under. But yes, it's a terrible idea.

Well said.
I have a medical condition that could potentially kill me if I take birth control
It's a great idea to take birth control after that age (broadly speaking), but I wouldn't mandate it.
And then 100 years from now you'll be wondering where the human race went.
What if they aren't having sex? Believe it or not there are some responsible teenagers out there.
How does not having sex make you responsible?
Haha you used the worst phrasing for this.

Oh I thought it was implied that she was having sex.

Young girls, I mean.
Depends on your country of residence.
I don't think it should be mandatory, but definitely more readily available and more educated about...
Young girls shouldn't need to take birth control.
Anal sex is the best form of birth control

Perhaps their parents should have raised them to be more responsible.
That doesn't mean they should be forced to take birth control.
