+201 It's funny how some people will throw change into a wishing well or tell the cashier to just keep the change when it's a few pennies they don't wanna tote around but almost no one wants to give a hobo the few pennies they've got in their pocket, amirite?

I went to a Starbucks at an airport, and I dropped the change in the trash can...

Most homeless people can help themselves. But I never give them change. If I'm feeling generous I would buy them some food. They'll just go buy beer or Listerine or something with the change...

Hey man, if you were a hobo you'd probably be itchin' for some alcoholic beverages too. And some Listerine too cuz my god have you ever tried not brushing your teeth for even just a day?

What's a hobo going to buy with a few pennies? I mean the wishing well will put my pennies to good use by making my wishes come true and the pennies left at the checkout stand may help another person who just needs a penny or two so he doesn't have to break that $100 bill.

Maybe if everyone gave them their useless pennies... hmm

Well duh.. The issue is my pennies and what the hobo does with them. If he's just two pennies away from that beer, then he can get them from the cashier where I left them.

Left at the checkout stand where people can grab them? They've always just put them in the cashier with all the other pennies for me...

You must have some asshole cashiers where you live. In Kentucky they either leave extra pennies out or they just remember and say to the next person who needs one, "don't worry about the change."

Nobody has loose change in their pockets because it's all in the wishing wells.
