That meme is for obvious facts. Why would you use it on a post you disagree with?

I always disagree with "no shit" posts.

I think it's stupid personally. That's like saying "light and not-dark are different things". They're not.

Well, when I remember something, I didn't forget it, and when I didn't forget something, I would generally say I remembered it.

I don't think he is talking about the actual meaning of the word/word phrase. He is just trying to prove a point that "remembering" is generally geared towards good things and "not forgetting" is mostly used for bad situations/experiences.

I suppose, but for me they're pretty much interchangeable.

To each his own.

What is the difference?

Erm, please enlighten me on the topic.

I think that the OP is trying to say that when something bad happens, instead of remembering it and staying upset, you can move on with your life while still acknowledging that it happened.

thats what im getting at @jimjambongs

I agree with #Jimjambongs. The question isn't literal but I believe it's more of a personal way of looking at things. It's not an objective "bad" or "good" (don't really believe there is such a thing) rather it's how we ourselves choose to look at it. "Not forgetting" something is negative (connotations of anger and begrudging) . Remembering is a more positive way to grow and learn from the same situation. You remember the good and you try to forget the bad but often that "good" and "bad" are really just the way you chose to look back at it. You either get burnt and choose to never forget that pain or you get burnt and choose to remember how to prevent it from happening again, or how to react in the best way, or what you've learnt from it. I choose to remember the good and the tough in my life.
