+191 It would be absolutely dreadful if a person you weren't attracted to asked you out through texting while you were tired, and instead of saying, "No," you type, "Yes," because you're so tired. And you'd have the most awkward time having to breakup with them. Just imagine the reasoning you'd have to explain. "I'm sorry, but I was...kinda tired...and I thought I typed no, so..." You'd feel terrible and it would be degrading. amirite?

why is this post about an extremely obscure and unlikely situation on the homepage?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

BECAUSE WHAT IF IT HAPPENED ///JUST THINK IF THAT HAPPENED TO YOU/// ////////////WHAT IF//////////

by Anonymous 11 years ago

then the answer is that yes, it would //obviously// suck.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Then that's the point. Hypothetical situations can be shared for agreement as to whether or not they're awkward/bad/good/etc. It's been done before.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I find it somewhat amusing that some people think(s? Idunnolol) it's funny to do things similar to that.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You're not supposed to ask someone out in a text ...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That doesn't mean people don't do it. You say it like it's the law. I'd ask a person out through text if it seemed like the best way to go. Teenagers too formal over the stupidest thing, and informal over the good things. So backwards.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

im not saying its the law. I just think its better to ask someone out in person because its cuter hah x

by Anonymous 11 years ago

But my case was hypothetical. I have no idea if this is why you voted it down but if this is the reason why, you seem very naive.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

oh no I voted it down because Im really awesome at breaking up with people and its not anything to feel bad about, they should be understanding about it anyway, i mean, if you're not attracted to them its not your fault that you accidently sent a wrong text..?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You wouldn't feel horrible about it? Ngl that sounds kinda bitchy. This person wants to go out with you and they're joyous that you said yes, even though it was on accident, and you have to break it off. Not a single sense of bitch factor in that? I'm a pretty terrible person and I think that's kinda wrong.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I mean, people shouldn't be so sensitive. Its highly doubtful that we'd last forever. It does sound a bit bitchy. But at least I wouldn't be stringing them on.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

People shouldn't be sensitive over things like words. Nigger, cunt, etc. But sympathy and empathy are good things to learn and keep.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

So...if you got asked out by someone you've had a major crush on, then he turned around a day later and said "You know what, this wasn't really what I had in mind. I'm sorry, but I'm breaking up with you" you would not be heartbroken. (I know this isn't how the post said the situation is but I'm adapting it to your situation.)

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You're not SUPPOSED to, but people do it anyway. It's not that bad. The bad thing is the break up over text message. It's terrible. My ex asked me out over text and then broke up with me over text. It sucked. My current bf asked me out over Facebook. So, while people aren't SUPPOSED. to, they do it anyway.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I would never reply with "No." That's mean.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You would just agree to go out with someone you knew there was no future with?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No I mean just saying "No" in itself.
