I'm not a psychopath. I'm a high-functioning sociopath. Do your research.
Actually, they are used interchangeably but they're actually different. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=difference...+and+sociopath Experts can tell the difference between the two when they commit a crime. Sociopaths tend to be careless and get caught while psychopath are very careful on the verge of obsession. I don't really know what the rest of what you said means because I'm drunk or else I'd engage in conversation with you.
If you did yours, you would know psychopaths are usually high functioning and can fit in society while sociopaths tend to be very bad at it.
Sobered up some. Still don't get it /: I didn't really have anything to say other than there's a difference between a psychopath and sociopath anyway. But I guess I can add on: a psycho is a psycho no matter what. One psycho may fit more qualities of a psychopath than another, but they're both still crazy.
I was actually quoting something.... But lovely rebuttals, all of you.
(colebowl) I think what he means is that he's a full blown psychopath .....(dontpanic) in which case it would mean that you lean towards it 'more' so it's still relevant because that would mean you come under the highest levels of being spychopathic (and talking about psychopathy being at various levels/degrees was the point of the post)...... and if you did your research you would know that Psychopath and sociopath are words used for the same quality in humans ...it's just that sociopath as a term tends be more 'criminal' associated in it's useage.
hahahahaha ok I guess we'll engage once you sober up then ....yeah the rest of it was a reply to (dont panic) I wasn't telling you not to panic ......This must sound more confusing now .
well I just believe that most people have these tendencies ...whether you'd want to call them psychopathic, sociopathic , antisocial or crazy is up to you..... It's like there are all kinds of tendencies in people ...example: People have 'empathy' in them however every person with the tendency to be empathetic is not a philanthropist of the highest degree like mother teressa was. Good and bad and psychopathic traits exist in all but people can relate to them in varying degrees. I guess what I'm saying is that even though you're not a psychopath, you would have some tendencies which would enable you to be able to relate to one inspite of the fact that you don't function as a psychopath. And what you said about one psychopath fitting more qualities of a psychopath than another is almost along the same lines as to what I'm saying...... only difference is i'm stating that we all have those tendencies .... it's not completely alien to us the same way as goodness and evilness are not completely alien to us and neither is 'crazy'.
I didn't understand until you said "it's not completely alien to us the same way as goodness and evilness are not completely alien to us and neither is 'crazy'." The empathy thing though, people are programmed to feel it. Even mice do. There was a study were they had two mice and one was trapped in a little box and the other tried to save it, then the same mouse against a fake mouse in the box and it didn't do anything to save it. I sort of can relate to some crazy traits, but when you look at the actual qualifications that make someone a psycho, I relate on a very shallow level.
yeah sometimes i feel i'm not very clear in explaining myself ... i think i understand what you mean when you say that you relate to the qualifying qualities of a psychopath at a very shallow level..... but i feel i relate to the same qualities at a deeper level ....like i've had real 'glimpses' of a psychopathic thought process in myself when I was younger ....agreed they were only glimpses but i can't call them shallow glimpses....also a very interesting thing i read once about how all humans are primarily born with a void which they try and fill in different ways like with love money, a sense of purpose, selflessness, 'success', fame etc..... And even psychopaths are primarily spychopaths because they suffer from ennui and emptyness so i feel we're all facets of the same core personality. You hear about people who were very 'good' suddenly flip and turn evil due to circumstances ..so it's as if they always had it in them ...and maybe all of us have it in us. Only difference is people cope with the same core feelings in different ways. Some are more successful in internalising thier pain some are less successful.
And you know what you said about empathy .... have you ever experienced an overload of emotion (like say due to a tragedy) where instead of 'feeling' you completely shut off and become 'numb' instead.... almost as though you don't feel anything at all. Another thing I read which was interesting was a study conducted on anti social children that revealed this: That less girls among the anti social kids grew up to be antisocial adults. It's believed to be due to the nature that girls tend to have (due to natural and social conditions), that enables them to internalise pain and despair more readily than boys....so again it comes down to a difference in 'coping' with the same qualities. And there are people I know who definitly have more psychopathic qualities than others yet they can't be called 'full blown psychopaths' it's as though there isn't a distinct line which separates a full blown psychopathic from someone who isn't one... infact i feel the ones that can be called full blown psychos are just people who not only have tendencies but have developed a 'pattern' of psychopathy . The same way as there are people who drink alcohol and then there are people who've fallen into *
(dont panic) Touche =P
