+396 Only 55% of Americans know that the sun is a star. You hope to God that the rest were answering the poll sarcastically, amirite?

NO way! =D

OMG, you're so retarded, how can the sun be a star? It isn't even out at night time douche. What kind of moron doesn't know the difference between the sun and the stars?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

hopefully humans can live on the sun one day so it becomes a planet

I feel like if the poll was "What is the closest star to the earth?" a lot of people wouldn't think of the sun. But obviously if the poll was "Is the sun a star?" more than 55% of people would say yes

omg guyz the sun is obviously not a star... it's way bigger than a star should be. you see all those stars in the sky? ya they're teeny tiny. it's not like they're billions of light years away or anything...

Sauce pls. I looked it up and found zip. 55% of Americans will agree with a bogus statistic if it supports a confirmation bias

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'd argue that none of those things are reliable sources.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I really wish people were smart enough to realize how false this is.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The hilarious thing is that Americans "hope to God" about things. Haven't they figured out that God isn't real. LOL.

The sad thing is that if they weren't being sarcastic, and they are over 18, they're allowed to vote. no

Of course it is true... there are star away from our galaxy that are bigger than the sun, it takes millions of years to reach to our galaxy, and those star might doesn't exists anymore... So thumbs up for the question.
