The best thing to do is to answer all of the questions you know, so you won't get called on for the ones you don't.

When I have homework to work on for other classes I answer a bunch of questions until the teacher says "Someone OTHER than Stacy" and then I know I'm safe to work and not get called on unexpectedly.
