+152 It's pretty sad that if you're holding a baby as a teenager these days, people automatically assume you're a teenage mother, and don't think that maybe it's just a sibling or neice/nephew. amirite?

Yeah, there aren't really as many teen pregnancies as people think there are. Sure, there are a lot, but it seems like more because of fictional TV shows and people who make a big stink about it.

It's just silly assumptions that onlookers should keep to themselves. I mean, if you see a big woman, and you can't tell if she's pregnant or just overweight, you don't go up to her and say, "When are you due!"

This has happened to me before. It was awkward.

I live in the teen pregnancy capital of Ontario, maybe even Canada, so if I see a teenager holding a baby it probably is hers.

I have a three year old sister and my other sister and I are both teenagers. We've had people come up to us and ask us who's the mother. It's rather awkward.
