There was an episode with Eden where she started crying and her mom gave her the choice on whether or not she wanted to do the pageant. She said she would've packed up and left if that was what she wanted to do but Eden chose to stay.

sure enough, I missed that episode. I highly doubt they would actually just up and leave because their kid wanted to though.

Maybe not on that show, but in the real world, yeah. Some kids actually want to be there.

There are some on the show but the focus is so heavily on their mom's and when the kids are being bratty (but they're kids, so what do you expect?) that you don't tend to see how much they actually enjoy it. Plus, there are kids on there all the time that say "I like doing pageants." And viewers seem to completely ignore that.
