+135 Some people just have to be respected. An example is Obama. Even if you don't like him, you have to respect him for being the first non-white president of the us, not the most accepting country, amirite?

It shouldnt be about race. It should be about who is the best person for the job. Respecting him just because he's the first black president doesn't make any sense.

Hes not saying people don't like him because he's black. Hes just saying people don't like him for some reason or another, whether it be political views or a stupid reason like accent or race. Calm down and appreciate the work it took to break this unfortunate tradition.

I have respect for Morgan Freeman, not because he is black but because he is good at what he does. Saying that we should respect the leader sounds more like a dictatorship.
