Also about life, learning, and skills+8People usually leave high school with a general knowledge of book smarts. That being good and all, schools should put more of an emphasis on preparing students for college and life after high school. Social skills, like, learning how to have respect for people and how to handle tough situations, etc. Parents obviously aren't teaching their kids these things, amirite?
Also by Layni+278If there were some way to put on a helmet and participate in a "virtual simulation" (like in the movies) of a Hunger Games, you'd probably do it, just to see how you would do and what it would be like. Plus in a sick way it would sort of be fun trying to survive, amirite?
Also by Layni-5It's extremely difficult to find even one person in history class, from before 1920 who was remotely attractive, amirite?
Also about life, learning, and skills+181Gym class should not be mandatory in high school. It would have been much nicer to take a useful class (like French, IA, Band or Home Ec) that teaches you skills you can use later on in life. Learning the rules of field hockey has helped you so much, amirite?
Also about Education+54If your professor wears a t-shirt that doesn't fit him and cracks a diet cola open at the start of the first day of class, you know your gonna have a good semester. amirite?
Also by Layni+237You would be so incredibly pissed off if you were watching Storage Wars or an episode of Antique's Roadshow where the person bought their item from a garage sale, and you saw your stuff being sold on there for a lot of money, amirite?
Also about life+383When life gives you lemons, fuck it in the ass and give life lemon-aids. amirite?
Also about Education+54Everyone in Denver is a member of the Mile High Club. amirite?
Also about life and skills+78Life is like a RPG. You level up on your birthday, and gain various skills such as 'walking' and 'dancing' on the way. School is like the newbie zone, where you get free healing food and get taught everything you need to know. Then by the end of the newbie zone you get to choose your class (fireman, scientist, etc...) and you spend the rest of your RPG life completing quests before deadlines and earning money. But the only thing missing is respawn. amirite?
Also about Education+5Human behavior can be intentionally shaped by the environment, amirite?
Also about life+454The Tortoise and the Hare was one of the worst stories to convey a moral - yes, being slow and patient may help in some areas of life, and being too cocky isn't a good thing, but in a real life speed race, your opponent isn't going take a nap halfway through, amirite?
