But it can be unfair in someone's favor, or against someone. That makes it even more unfair.

Yes, but those situations aren't evenly distributed. For instance, I'm pretty well off. I live in America, my family is upper-middle class, and I don't endure racism or sexism on a daily basis. Compare that to a child sex slave, and I don't think they have nearly as many unfairly favorable situations as I do.
