+238 Making enough money to get by doesn't leave enough time to enjoy life very well, amirite?

I don't understand how the amount of money you make affects how much time you have left. Are you implying that people who don't make enough money to get by enjoy life more? Because in that case I disagree pretty hard.

No it's more like how doctors and lawyers (etc), who make a lot of money which they could use to travel the world, don't have time to because they are always working. While other jobs that don't make a lot of money have more time, but little money to do anything.

Okay, people who don't earn much money don't have much money, agreed. But that isn't what this post says. In fact, by your logic that the amount you earn is inversely proportional to the free time you have, wouldn't you agree that someone who earns the absolute minimum you can earn without becoming destitute has the most time out of anyone?

Just to clear up the post: I was saying that even the minimum standard of working for an adult supporting himself or a family (give or take 40 hrs) doesn't leave a ton of time to have fun with friends and family. Kinda sucks

Meh. No matter what, no one is ever happy with the amount of money they have.

Don't need money to have fun. I'll take turns giving my friends rides on a stolen shopping cart or something.

Well, once you are on your own you need money to survive. Unless you plan on having no food or shelter, or living w/ parents forever

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I didn't say I didn't need money to survive. I'm saying if I only have enough money to survive, I don't need any more than that.

ah, ok. But I'm arguing that even making enough to scrape by limits the amount of time you have to enjoy life considerably

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Just because you're barley scraping by doesn't mean you're working all the time.
