If you were given the option of immortality you wouldn't choose it, amirite?

Could my family be immortal as well? I certainly wouldn't want to live forever and watch the only people I care about die before me.

Well that depends - would I become immortal but still become more decrepit with age? Because, if so, I definitely wouldn't choose immortality. Life would be horrible. However, if I was immortal through becoming a cyborg or something similar, then I'd definitely say "Yes!" to immortality, because that would be glorious.

I wouldn't want to even if I stay youthful and shit. I feel like death after a certain amount of years would be like going to bed after a long day and I'd be ready for it. And that I'd get tired of life after about 150 or 200 years, let alone immortality.

I don't think it seems weird to think about ceasing to exist - I think it's just something to avoid if possible. I mean, life is some pretty cool business that I'd like to keep up.

I don't believe in an afterlife either. The idea of an afterlife is unnerving to me, when I die I wanna just die. It seems weird to think about ceasing to exist now, but after the fact it won't even matter. Not to me at least, cuz I won't be here.

Well considering that I don't believe in an afterlife, me simply disappearing and ceasing to exist would be most undesirable and wholly wondrous to avoid in my personal opinion.

I'm assuming by "immortal" you mean able to choose my age and stay that age forever as well as be unable to die under any circumstances and even if I was pulled into a singularity I would not die.
If my body is injured I'd feel pain, if a part of my body was lost it would be reanimated as it was before.

I'd take it, after a while even the happiness of being with someone would fade or be overshadowed by the pain of so many people I loved or simply befriended being dead.
Maybe one day the earth wouldn't have any other humans.
Maybe eventually I'd suffer the excruciating, unimaginable pain of being hit by a meteorite.
Maybe after thousands of years I'd hate everything around me and want to die. Maybe it'd take longer.
Maybe the earth would somehow be destroyed and I'd drift for thousands, millions, or billions of years in space before I get to another place. Maybe I'd never get to another place.

That's fine though, in the moment of being asked my mouth would instantly say yes.
The negatives of the situation are massively overshadowed by my lust for pleasure now. The consequences of tomorrow are negligible in my mind, you think I'd plan ahead millions of years? Fuck no.

well ignore that is not effect on those....

If you watched ''In Time'' starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried, Matt Bomer's character says something like ''even if your body doesn't age, the mind does.''

So no, I wouldn't want to be immortal. I think we would all get to the point where we've seen as much as we could and get tired of living.
