+184 It's completely normal to have dessert after lunch or dinner but nobody has dessert after breakfast. I should be able to have a bowl of cereal followed by some cake and ice cream, amirite?

But breakfast often consists of sweet, dessert-type foods like doughnuts, muffins, and pancakes smothered in syrup.

If you're having something that's already sweet to begin with, you don't need a desert. But if you're having something like bacon and eggs on toast, why not? It actually completes the meal.

I really have no appetite in the morning. Even just packing a lunch makes me feel sick.

Pack it the night before?

Better yet, have dessert FOR breakfast! :D

Everyone does that. Pancakes, donuts, waffles, etc.

There's an interesting part of The Fault in Our Stars by John Green that discusses the ghettoization of breakfast foods. I believe breakfast is treated unfairly.
