It's completely normal to have dessert after lunch or dinner but nobody has dessert after breakfast. I should be able to have a bowl of cereal followed by some cake and ice cream, amirite?

The voters have decided that Mary is right! Vote on the post to say if you agree or disagree.

But breakfast often consists of sweet, dessert-type foods like doughnuts, muffins, and pancakes smothered in syrup.

Who's stopping you?

I really have no appetite in the morning. Even just packing a lunch makes me feel sick.

If you're having something that's already sweet to begin with, you don't need a desert. But if you're having something like bacon and eggs on toast, why not? It actually completes the meal.

Does brunch count? I had people over for brunch today and we had cake and ice cream afterwards o.O

Everyone does that. Pancakes, donuts, waffles, etc.

There's an interesting part of The Fault in Our Stars by John Green that discusses the ghettoization of breakfast foods. I believe breakfast is treated unfairly.
