+272 Instead of having shows like "16 and pregnant" why don't we ever see anything like "16 and bound for college" or "21 and successful?", amirite?

People like watching dramatic things. I don't think "I really can't decide between Harvard and Yale" makes for a very dramatic plot.

I thought of Gilmore Girls when I read that.

I can just picture my parents "See Claire, If you get good grades you can end up like them"

Because nothing makes someone feel better than seeing someone they don't know suffer

That's why my dad watches the show Ice Road Truckers

Okay I just wanted to say I meant to put "see" not "seen." Purposefully using incorrect grammar ain't cool.

16 and Pregnant has actually made teens think about their actions since getting pregnant seems pretty shitty.

Who's really successful at 21? Most people are still in college by that point. Also I don't think you'd get many people that are graduated high school two years early to be "16 and college bound". Those shows wouldn't last 2 seasons.

Because you see far more 16 and collegebound than 16 and pregnant.

In Asia maybe...

Anything like that would make everyone else feel like underachievers and that they've wasted their lives on amirite (myself included).

Might as well watch paint dry.

Because "16 and bound for college" or "21 and successful", doesn't reinforce a belief that the government needs to take care of everyone.
