+177 If you take all factors, including diversity of people, environment, military might and level of technology into concern, America would most probably be the country aliens would want to land in first, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Good luck with that yeah

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'm not American. I'm Singaporean.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That completely depends on why the aliens came. If they came to invade parts of the world and then move to other parts as they progress they'd probably pick canada

by Anonymous 11 years ago

They'd still want to disable the biggest superpower first.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'm thinking in terms of landing + resources and comparitively low resistance. I don't think they would have any idea US was the biggest super power. In the same way if we landed on an alien planet I think they'd see Asia as the largest mass in the world and probably start somewhere in Russia. On that subject in a UN long term study the US is no longer the worlds biggest super power. Militarily and economically that title goes to china by quite a bit. Long term being shortly after the steep US decline of 2008 until now

by Anonymous 11 years ago

They would probably go to a country with a higher population density.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Why? That would just make it harder to kill everyone (if that was their goal). If people are more spread out, it's less to tackle at once, whether they're trying to conquer or kill.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yes but if they have the technology to find and travel to us then fighting many of us at once would be of little concern, going to a place of higher density would making killing easier (no searching or travel), and conquering more beneficial (more slaves).

by Anonymous 11 years ago

True. I'm not an expert on alien domination.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

but the us is the world's greatest superpower, and like it or not world culture is based more off america than any other country in the world

by Anonymous 11 years ago

a) USA isn't really that much of a superpower anymore. b) When Europeans invaded north america they didn't really care which tribe had contributed the most "culture" they simply wanted the most fertile lands. Aliens won't care who has the biggest guns or army since with their superior technology they could trample any army of ours, and they sure won't care about culture if they are there to invade.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

what country is more of a super power than the us?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

China for one, it holds over 50% of the US's debt and can pretty much do as it wants at this stage, although you couldn't tell from american news services.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

so what it holds 50% of american debt? America has a much larger economy and military

by Anonymous 11 years ago

china's GDP is 11trillion$ while US is 15trillion$. But the USA is in 15trillion$ of debt which china owns half of. the Chinese army has: 385,821,101 available men with 2,285,000 active soldiers and nuclear capabilities. the US army has: 73,270,043 available men and only 1,456,862 active soldiers. and if US does something that is not in china's best interests, china threatens to start collecting that debt until they comply.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

american military are far better trained, supplied, and armed. The Chinese military has been called "an untrained rabble" sheer numbers do not win wars. America has alliances with most of the civilized world. And on smaller issues that may be true, but if China ever got really out of hand America could handle them.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'm not taking sides, but you have not quoted any sources on your statements about the Chinese army being inferior. And sorry but most of the times, numbers do win wars. Also saying that North American will win because of its allies is a weak way to defend how powerful it is alone.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

China does not own 50% of the U.S debt. They hold more than any other, but nowhere close to 50%.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I apologize 1 misread my sources, they own about 8% which is still very very significant and enough that china can control US is a rather large extent.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I disagree. The U.S stimulates the Chinese economy to an incredible extent because we import so much stuff. Sure, the Chinese could call in the trillion dollars owed to them, and the U.S would frantically scramble to get the money, but it would almost certainly backfire on China because the U.S would impose economic sanctions like they always do to get countries to play nice.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Ok forget the allies part. Numbers win wars? Explain the thrashings of the Russians in the Russian Japanese war and WW's 1 and 2. Or the American victory over the spanish in the span am war. And most importantly, how is Israel still around? Israel is a tiny country surrounded by countries who hate it with a burning passion. Yet their military routine hammers forces twice or three times their size.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Wrote whole paragraph on this. Noticed that it was about terms of invasion not terms of diplomacy. Got real sad after holding the backspace. Imagined my American ass in "worlds at war", "The day the world stood still", and just getting anal probed... now Jonesy sad.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I thought it'd be Japan... or Canada.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

why on earth would you think that?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Because Japan is awesome with their technology and China has a large population and other awesome stuff.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Nah, because we'd be able to kill them easily. They'd have to land in a country that isn't as advanced so they can take them over first and then slowly build up to us.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

If they're advanced enough to reach us, then it's very likely that they have better weapons than us.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

How would they know all about our world from up there? It's not like they can just google what each country is like.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

If we can Google, and they can travel many many light years to reach us, I think they could tap into our database.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Why not Canada?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Like John said, it depends on the reason. If they want some grub, they come to America. If they want to make friends, they go to Canada. If they want to purchase hair, they go to India.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That was probably the most mature but still funny and true comments on this website. I applaud you.
